Therapeutic Riding: Enhancing Lives Through Equine Connection

Our therapeutic riding program offers a multi-faceted intervention designed for children and adults living with a range of physical, cognitive, emotional, and developmental challenges. This unique therapy has been recognized for decades as an effective way to enhance physical, emotional, social, cognitive, behavioral, and educational skills – all while providing a healthy and enjoyable activity.

Sessions typically last 30 minutes, offering a focused and impactful experience. Whether seeking improvement in mobility, coordination, emotional well-being, or social skills, our therapeutic riding program fosters growth and confidence in a supportive environment.

The Sensory Trail

Our Therapeutic Horse Sensory Trail is a unique and immersive experience designed to stimulate the senses and enhance physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being. Set within the enchanting Magic Forest, the trail weaves through a natural woodland path adorned with sensory elements that encourage exploration and interaction.

Specially crafted for individuals of all abilities, the sensory trail combines the calming presence of horses with thoughtfully placed sensory features. These include tactile stations, vibrant visual displays, auditory elements, and interactive objects that engage participants in a holistic and therapeutic journey.

Guided by qualified therapeutic coaches, each session is tailored to the needs of the individual, promoting relaxation, coordination, sensory awareness, and emotional balance. The natural setting and the rhythmic movement of the horse together create a peaceful atmosphere where growth and connection flourish.

Whether used as part of a structured therapeutic riding program or simply as a gentle outdoor activity, our Therapeutic Horse Sensory Trail is a place where participants can connect with nature, themselves, and the therapeutic power of horses.

Our Method

WHAT IS THE HORSE BOY METHOD?

At Corballis Farm, we proudly practice the Horse Boy Method – a unique therapeutic approach that harnesses the power of horses to support individuals with neurodiversity and other challenges. Developed by Rupert Isaacson, this method is rooted in the idea that horses can help unlock communication, emotional well-being, and sensory regulation through movement and connection.

The Horse Boy Method combines horseback riding with sensory activities in a natural, stress-free environment. The rhythmic movement of the horse stimulates the rider’s body and brain, promoting relaxation and fostering the ability to focus and communicate. Additionally, incorporating sensory elements and play along the trail enhances the experience, helping participants feel calm, centered, and more connected.

Our skilled practitioners at Corballis Farm tailor each session to the individual, focusing on creating a comfortable and supportive atmosphere. Whether working with children or adults, the goal is to build confidence, encourage social interaction, and nurture personal growth through the profound bond between humans and horses.
